Building Better Kids was started in 2017 by a few teachers at Malakoff High School who observed many school staff sending food and toiletries home with students over weekends. This prompted them to further investigate, and they uncovered a real need for necessities for many families and kids that attend Malakoff High School. From then on, a more focused effort to serve these families arose and “Building Better Kids“ was born.
WHAT IS BUILDING BETTER KIDS?
Building Better Kids is seeking to become a non-profit organization located in Malakoff, TX that provides basic living necessities and the hope of Christ to Malakoff High School students and their families.
Food, toiletries (shampoos, toothpaste, deodorant’s, and other related personal care needs). BBK currently serves 25-30 families and over 85 students in the immediate area. BBK wants no one to go hungry either physically or spiritually. This is done throughout the year, along with a focus on Thanksgiving Dinners, and the ability to help parents with the dignity of providing gifts to their kids at Christmas.
Upon each home delivery, the BBK takes the opportunity to pray with families and invite them to a local church. Families have been receptive to hear the Gospel, and many have prayed to receive Christ as part of this mission.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
PRAY - Pray that God will open the doors for the team to walk through to serve those in need.
VOLUNTEER - We are always seeking for volunteers to donate their time and energy to help deliver supplies and be the feet on the ground.
GIVE – We are always accepting donations to ensure we can provide the needed food and support . We thank you for your continued support.

100% of your gift goes directly to the families in need. There are no paid staff. This organization is led and served all by volunteers who has put this need on their heart.
